About Us
Moesgaard IT is part of a larger Danish corporate group focused on electronics development, including both hardware and software. Within the group, Moesgaard IT focuses on IoT consulting and the sale of various IoT products primarily developed within the corporate group.
We are based in Aalborg and benefit from various collaborations with the university.
We have worked with IoT for many years, and thus also with the ability to communicate between different types of electronics and machines located separately from each other – even before the concept of IoT emerged.
2010 – The first communication solutions
Around 2010, we developed the first online solutions. We developed a service and workshop terminal, but because the price of mobile data was very high at the time, the solutions were based on data transfer via SMS. We achieved very stable connections, but at the same time also had a limitation in data volume. In areas with poor mobile coverage, we still use these solutions.
In the same period, in collaboration with local farmers, we developed a solution for monitoring slurry tanks.
2015 – Collaboration with Aalborg University
In 2015, we initiated a collaboration with Aalborg University on the development of a new IoT platform. We could see that technology was catching up, component and equipment prices were falling, and the cost of data communication had reached a level where it was possible to have online connections to machines.
2016 – Market Maturation Fund
Following the collaboration with Aalborg University, we applied for and received support from the Market Maturation Fund in 2016 to mature our new IoT platform for the market. The solution allows us to communicate with both self-developed electronics and other electronic devices. In the solution, we place a strong focus on security and user identification, where data communication is encrypted and access to machines and data depends on your user status.
2016 - 2025 – Various products
During this period, in collaboration with customers, we have developed various products, all of which use our IoT platform as a starting point. Examples include:
- Device for monitoring and setting controls for stoker boilers. We have an online connection to units in several countries and can, via the IoT platform, set up to 400 different parameters on each boiler. The solution is designed so that multiple types of users can be linked to each boiler, e.g., importer, dealer, service employee, and user, just as multiple types of installations can be linked to each user type.
- Monitoring unit for rat traps. Possibility of online registration of animals in the trap and notification to the user, so dead animals can be removed from the trap.
-
Monitoring of various machines and equipment (e.g., production machines, pumps, overflowing toilets, and much more) with alarm settings when given parameters exceed agreed levels. This could be vibrations, heat, etc. Data from devices is displayed on our IoT platform, which also controls the sending of alarms.
-
Device for educational use called "IoT suitcase". Students can easily attach sensors to a machine and get an overview of the machine's operation. At the same time, data is collected and stored, which students can use as a basis for data analysis. For security reasons, it is designed so that each type of sensor can only be inserted into a specific socket. The suitcase automatically registers which sensors are currently active.
-
Electricity / Energy meters. Many manufacturing companies know their total electricity consumption, but they don't know it for individual machines, nor do they know any consumption when the machine is idle. With large fluctuations in electricity prices, it makes even more sense to plan the operating times for individual machines. The units can measure from 16 to 128 A, and consumption can be displayed in both kWh and kroner, and consumption over time can be shown as a graph. It is possible to define alarms that notify if there is abnormal consumption.
- Collaboration with Teltonika. We have established a collaboration with Teltonika, where we purchase their various tracking and communication units. We mount a SIM card in the units and register them on our IoT platform. You mount the units in or on your cars, machines, shipments, etc., after which you can track the movements of your assets. Fleet management, logbook completion, etc., are possible.
- Your project. We are always open to new ideas.
